NTA’s administrative and examination conducting system will be strengthened with new appointments.
New Delhi: After the NEET paper leak, the government has made major changes at the administrative level in the National Testing Agency (NTA) and appointed two new joint directors and two joint secretaries. Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Akash Jain has been appointed Joint Director in NTA. Along with this, Aditya Rajendra Bhojgarhia has also been given the responsibility of joint director. Anuja Pabat and Ruchita Vij have been appointed to the post of joint secretaries. An order in this regard has been issued by DoPT.
Appointments made after ACC approval
Let us tell you that these appointments have been made under the Higher Education Department. His appointment has been made after the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Let us tell you that NTA organizes many major entrance examinations including NEET, JEE Main, CUET across the country. These new appointments are expected to speed up examination management, coordination and administrative work.
Who are the two joint secretaries?
Anuja Bapat, appointed to the post of Joint Secretary, is a 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer. Ruchita Vij, appointed as Joint Secretary, is a 2004 batch IRS officer. Both these appointments have been made for five years.
Who is Akash Jain?
Akash Jain, appointed to the post of Joint Director, is an officer of IRS 2013 batch. He has been posted as Joint Director in NTA through lateral shift i.e. sending him from one government department to another. His tenure will last till December 4, 2029.
Who is Rajendra Bhojgarhia?
Rajendra Bhojgarhia, appointed to the post of Joint Director, is a 2013 batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. He has also been posted on the post of Joint Director in NTA through lateral shift i.e. by sending him from one government department to another. His tenure will last till 16 May 2028.
Let us tell you that these appointments are being considered as part of the broader effort to ensure transparency and better administration in the examination process of NTA. The NEET-UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was canceled after allegations of paper leak. Now these examinations will be conducted again on June 21. CBI investigation into the case is ongoing.
