Thailand Open: Satwik-Chirag in the final of Thailand Open, made place by defeating Malaysian pair in the semi-finals

Patumwan, Thailand. Two-time former champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made a spectacular comeback on Saturday by defeating Malaysia’s Goh Se Fei and Noor Izzuddin 19-21, 22-20, 21-16 to book their place in the final of Thailand Open. Semi-finals played today at Nimibutra Stadium in Thailand

In the match, the Malaysian pair had a better start in the opening game, gaining control after being tied at 7-7 and took a six-point lead at 15-9. Although Satwik and Chirag tried to close the gap in the later stages, the Malaysian pair convincingly won the game 21-19. In the second game, both the pairs fought for points, with the Indian pair reaching game point at 20-18.

Refusing to back down, the Goh-Noor pair saved two game points to level the score, but the Indian Stars won the game 22-20 and set up a decider. The 2019 and 2024 champions, Satwik and Chirag dominated the third game and secured a comfortable 21-16 win to book their place in the final.

With this win, they entered their first final of this season. The Indian pair will next face the winner of the match between Leo Roli Carnando and Daniel Marthin of Indonesia and He Ji Ting and Ren Jiang Yu of China.
