From today Sunday, Adhikamas festival will be celebrated at Shrinathji’s mansion in Ujjain.

Ujjain. According to the Hindu calendar, Jyeshtha Adhik month is starting from Sunday today. It will run till June 15. There are various havelis of Pushtimargiya sect in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh, where various wishes will be fulfilled every day. The 30-day Purushottam Maas Mahotsav will be celebrated throughout the month at Shrinathji’s Haveli located on Dhaba Road. Various wishes will be made to Thakurji every morning and evening.

According to Astrologer Pt. Harihar Pandya, it is a scientific truth that the Earth completes its revolution around the Sun in 365 days and 6 hours, whereas the Moon-based time cycle is 355 days. Due to this astronomical situation, every two and a half to three years an extra month of about 30 days is added, which is called Adhik Maas or Purushottam Maas. There is no fixed position of this Adhik month in the Hindu calendar. It comes sometimes in Vaishakh-Saavan-Bhadwa-Ashadha. According to mythology, God himself accepted this Adhimas and its importance and rules are mentioned in the scriptures and scriptures.

Raga-bhog and adornment will be based on desires. Worldly and auspicious works like marriage and Upanayana Sanskar etc. are prohibited in Adhik month. In the Pushtimargiya sect, this time is dedicated to the special worship of the Lord. With the full grace of Jagatguru Shrimad Vallabhacharya ji, in this month, keeping in mind the happiness of Thakurji, grand celebrations (raag-bhog and adornment based) of festivals, devotions and satsang etc. are organized throughout the year in all the havelis of Pushti Marg. Following this tradition, special festivals will be organized in Shrinathji’s mansion for 30 days.

There will be date wise celebrations, thus this entire event will be organized by Shrinathji and Shri Purushottam Temple Trust. According to the organizing committee, the date wise details of morning and evening prayers every day from May 17 to June 15 are as follows –
