Finn Allen created havoc in Eden Gardens, hit 10 sixes and entered Gayle’s club.

In the 60th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Finn Allen played a crucial role. Allen defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) bowlers and scored just 93 runs in 35 balls. He hit 4 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. Allen was fast moving towards his second century of this season but Sai Kishore became an obstacle in his path. This left arm spinner got Allen caught by Rashid Khan.

Allen made a record

Right-handed batsman Allen scored an unbeaten century (100) in the chase of 143 runs against Delhi Capitals on May 8. During this period he hit 5 fours and 10 sixes. Brendon McCullum (13 sixes) and Andre Russell (11 sixes) have achieved this feat once each for KKR.

Allen has also taken entry in Chris Gayle’s special club. He has become the fourth batsman to hit 10 plus sixes in an innings more than once in IPL. Chris Gayle has done this feat 4 times. Whereas Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi have hit 10 or more sixes in an innings twice.

Alan took advantage of the donation of life

GT had invited KKR to bat first. With captain Ajinkya Rahane at the crease, Allen looked to change gears in the third over after playing the first few balls comfortably. He hit two consecutive fours against Mohammad Siraj. After this, he also tried to play a big shot on the last ball, on which he narrowly escaped. Jason Holder dropped his difficult catch at cover. Allen hit two sixes back to back against Rabada in the next over. By the end of the powerplay he had scored 31 runs in 15 balls.

He got another life after the powerplay ended. This time Siraj took an easy catch on Holder’s ball. Taking advantage of this gift of life, Allen completed his fifty in 21 balls by hitting two consecutive sixes and then a four against Rashid Khan. Allen then played with GT’s bowling and took KKR to 139 runs in 11.2 overs before getting out. After his departure, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (82 not out in 44 balls) along with Cameron Green (52 not out in 28 balls) made a century partnership, due to which KKR scored a huge score of 247 runs at the loss of 2 wickets.
