A very important and big news is coming for the central government employees and pensioners. The work of the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) has now gained momentum and a new schedule of meetings has been issued in this regard. If you are also a central employee or are taking pension benefits, then this news is directly related to your future and pocket. The Commission is fully prepared for its next big meetings.

Veterans will gather in Hyderabad, a special meeting is going to happen

According to this new update related to Pay Commission, the 8th Central Pay Commission is going to visit Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana on 18th and 19th May 2026. During this important two-day visit, the members of the Commission will meet face to face with representatives of many central government organizations, institutions, employee unions and various associations. This meeting is being considered very important from the employees’ point of view.

Know who will get the chance to present their views before the Commission

The rules regarding this meeting were already decided. Any employee organization, union or institution that wanted to put forward their demands before the 8th Pay Commission, it was made mandatory for them to submit the memorandum in advance on the official website of the Commission. Mere submission of the memorandum was not enough, but after this the applicants also had to take an appointment before May 8, 2026 through an official form link. In this entire process, the unique Memo ID received after the application has been kept as the most important document.

The Commission said this important thing regarding the deadline

The 8th Pay Commission has made it clear in its official statement that the last date to attend this meeting and apply for appointment was fixed as 8th May 2026 and it was mandatory to submit it on time. The Commission has also informed that the exact venue and complete schedule of this two-day meeting will be shared in the coming time. This visit is also being considered a big opportunity for the employees and pensioners because through this they are getting the opportunity to present their demands and salary related suggestions directly before the Commission.

After Hyderabad, it is the turn of these cities, the caravan will stop here too

This exercise of revising salary and allowances is not going to be limited to Hyderabad only. This visit of the Commission is just the beginning. After completing its meetings in Hyderabad, the 8th Pay Commission will move to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. After this, similar separate meetings will be organized in major cities of other states and union territories of the country so that the views of every section can be heard.

When will the final report of the new pay commission come?

Now the biggest question is that when will the employees get the gift of the new pay commission? The Central Government has given a fixed deadline to the Commission to submit the report containing its recommendations. As per government instructions, the Commission will have to submit its report within 18 months of the issue of Terms of Reference (ToR). However, it is also a matter of relief for the employees that if the preparation of the final report takes more time than expected, then the Commission can also present an interim report to the government in between.

Eyes of crores of employees and pensioners are fixed

Lakhs of government employees and pensioners across the country are currently keeping an eye on every movement of the 8th Pay Commission. This is because, based on the recommendations of this commission, there will be major changes in their basic salary, allowances (like DA and HRA) and pension after retirement.

The Commission will focus on these things while preparing the report on salary increase.

The Commission will not blindly decide how much the salary and pension of employees should be increased. According to the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the 8th Pay Commission, some very stringent and important standards will be kept in mind while preparing the final report. The Commission will first assess the current economic situation and financial discipline of the country. Along with this, the funds available in the budget for public welfare and development schemes of the government will also be seen.

The matter does not end here, the Commission will also have to take full care of how much the financial burden on pension schemes will increase due to the new recommendations and what effect it can have on the financial position of the state governments. Apart from this, the pay system currently prevailing in Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and private sector will be compared. Apart from this, any final decision will be taken only after a complete study of the service conditions and existing facilities available to the employees in different government sectors.
