Amit Shah inaugurated automatic milk processing plant in Gandhinagar!

Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday inaugurated the newly constructed milk processing plant of Madhur Dairy at Dashela, Gandhinagar. On this occasion, cattle rearing sisters welcomed Amit Shah.

Addressing the function, Amit Shah said that this fully automatic milk processing plant, newly constructed at a cost of Rs 128 crore on 15 acres of land in Dashela, will become the basis for the economic progress of the cattle rearers. This plant will process two and a half lakh liters of milk per day, which is planned to be increased to five lakh liters in future. About 75 percent of the profit after the operating expenses of this plant will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the cattle farmers.

Describing the dairy sector as a special medium of women empowerment, Amit Shah said that today three crore liters of milk is collected every day through 36 lakh cattle rearing sisters in Gujarat, due to which an amount of about Rs 200 crore is deposited directly into the bank accounts of the sisters every day. Referring to his personal experience, he said that the sisters who were not financially independent earlier, have today become ‘householders’ because of the dairy sector.

The Union Minister said that by encouraging ‘circular economy’ in the dairy sector, a target has been set to increase the income of cattle farmers by at least 20 percent. Citing the example of increasing trust among people towards Amul’s products, he said that Amul’s sugar free chocolate is at the first position in the country in the ‘Sugar Free Chocolate’ category, the direct benefits of which are reaching the farmers.

He said that under White Revolution 2.0, a target has been set to increase the country’s total milk production three times in the next 10 years. Amul has worked to increase the profits of cattle farmers through technology. He mentioned the digital assistant ‘Sarlaben’ recently launched by the Prime Minister, which is today helping sisters in rural areas in animal husbandry and farming.

Praising the progress of Madhur Dairy, he said that Madhur Dairy is carrying forward the tradition of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Tribhuvanbhai Patel and Dr. Verghese Kurien. The journey of Madhur Dairy, which started in the year 1971 with only 4 circles and 6000 liters of milk collection, has today reached an annual turnover of Rs 268 crore.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the land of Gujarat has been rich in the spirit of cooperation for centuries. He said that Prime Minister Modi has adopted the path of ‘cooperation to prosperity’ to keep pace with the changing perspectives of the cooperative sector.

CM said that not only this, the Prime Minister has created a new history of development politics, in that also he has kept in his heart the feeling of prosperity of the country with everyone’s cooperation, due to which he has gained immense trust and confidence of the public.

Refreshing the historical memories of Madhur Dairy, the Chief Minister said that five and a half decades ago, only three-four milk producer cooperative groups had started this union and now every morning of Gandhinagar residents starts with milk tea named Madhur.

Referring to other features of Madhur Dairy and Gandhinagar District Milk Producers Union, the CM said that the cooperative group of milk consumers i.e. milk consumers has been working in Gandhinagar for fifty years. This group with 15 thousand members distributes the milk of Madhur Dairy from 230 distribution centres.

The Chief Minister described this program of Madhur Dairy as a celebration of the development revolution from the White Revolution in Gandhinagar under the guidance of the Home Minister and congratulated the Madhur Dairy family for joining a new level in the development story of dairy.

The Chief Minister said that Amit Shah has shown a living example of how organizational power, worker-based politics and public trust can be won through the West Bengal election results.

At the beginning of the program, Madhur Dairy Chairman Shankersingh Rana welcomed everyone and presented the detailed background of Madhur Dairy.

On this occasion, Amul Federation-GCMMF Chairman Ashok Bhai Chaudhary, NAFED Chairman Jethabhai Ahir, Gandhinagar South MLA Alpesh Thakor, Mehsana MLA J. S. Patel, Dahegam MLA Balrajsingh Chauhan, Additional Chief Secretary of Cooperative Department Arunkumar Solanki, members of the board of directors of Madhur Dairy, cooperative leaders and a large number of cattle rearers and farmers were present.
