New OTT releases this week (May 13-19): Dhurandhar 2, Berlin Season 2, Kartavya and more

This weekend feels like an all action packed kind of gritty thriller rolling out on OTT platforms. Starting with the high octane spy tale Dhurandhar: The Revenge and then also the comeback of Berlin Season 2 the whole weekend is stuffed with entertainment.

If you enjoy nail biting thrillers, brazen heists or crime investigations there’s honestly something for everyone streaming right now on Netflix, JioHotstar and the other major streaming giants.

Here’s a list of upcoming OTT releases this week

Kartavya – Netflix

Release date: May 15

The Saif Ali Khan starrer it kind of investigative thriller type thing, tells the story of Pawan a cop who gets intense scrutiny after he couldn’t protect a journalist who is shot while under his watch. It’s set in the fictional North Indian town of Jhamli and the film is directed by Pulkit who earlier worked on Bhakshak for Netflix.

Inspector Avinash S2 — JioHotstar

Release date: May 15

The Randeep Hooda starrer actioner series is coming back with yet another season on May 15 like it kinda does every time. Directed by Neerraj Pathak season 2 sets the titular character up against the crime lord Sheikh and the mysterious Devi as he keeps pushing to wipe out the crime cartel in the area. The supporting crew includes Urvashi Rautela, Rajneish Duggal, Shalin Bhanot and Freddy Daruwala.

Vimal Khanna — MX Player

Release date: May 15

Sunny Hinduja is set to play the main role in an upcoming series that is loosely based on the works of well known detective fiction writer Surendra Mohan Pathak. He will be seen as a drifter type person who after taking on the caretaker role at a rich seaside villa tries to get away from wrongful murder charges but of course things get tangled fast. Later he realizes he’s gotten pulled even further into some other criminal conspiracy and now he has to act quickly to stop it because saving his skin quite literally becomes the whole point.

Dhurandhar 2 — JioHotstar

Release date: May 15

Even though the makers haven’t confirmed it yet the huge box office blockbuster with Ranveer Singh in the lead is reportedly set to start streaming this week on JioHotstar. A couple of days back a screenshot went viral where Dhurandhar 2’s listing on Netflix for the overseas market could be spotted with May 14 being mentioned as the premiere date.

Dutton Ranch — JioHotstar

Release date: May 15

Yellowstone spin off stars Kelly Reilly an d Cole Hauser come back as Beth Dutton an Rip Wheeler. The series tracks them as they build up a new day in Texas and there they get hit with hard, new problems, old style rivalries and that ongoing job of raising Carter.

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine — Netflix

Release date: May 15

Pedro Alonso sort of reprises his iconic role as Berlin in this Money Heist spin off where his crew kinda reunites in Seville for a hazardous heist of Leonardo da Vinci’s famed painting you know the one everyone talks about.

Rivals Season 2 — JioHotstar

Release date: May 15

So it’s a British drama set in 1980s England kind of comes back again with David Tennant kind of at the center but also with all this intense rivalry plus scandalous events that are you know everywhere.

The Crash — Netflix

Release date: May 15

This true crime documentary is loosely based on the 2022 Ohio crash where 19-year-old Mackenzie Shirilla drove straight into a brick building at about 100 mph. In the aftermath two people were killed and only one person survived. At first it looks like a heartbreaking, awful accident but then it turns into a murder case.

It’s Not Like That — Prime Video

Release date: May 15

This kinda heart warming family drama tells about a recently widowed father and a recently divorced mother who seem to find an unplanned emotional tie between them even as they are both pushed through sorrow and all those everyday struggles kinda quietly.
