Tinder Dating App: Delhi Police busted Honeytrap Gang’s dirty game through dating app. Honeytrap gang members used to befriend youths by creating fake profiles of girls on dating apps Tinder and QuackQuack. The friendship later extended to chatting and meeting in the flat. During meetings in the flat, fake police would enter and everything would change. By staging a fake police raid, threats were made to implicate them in a rape case and lakhs of rupees were extorted. Police have arrested four accused in the case. Two accused are still absconding.
This entire matter came to light after a complaint by a victim. The victim met a girl named ‘Kirti’ on a dating app. The conversation progressed and he was called to Janakpuri. The young man arrived, found the girl, was taken to the flat, but after some time the door opened and some people came inside. One of them was in police uniform. He introduced himself as a policeman and started accusing the young man of misbehaving with the girl.
After this the real game of Honeytrap Gang begins. The young man was told that the matter would be a rape case. Go to the police station now or give Rs 15 lakh. Due to fear the young man could not understand anything. He did not have that much money, so the accused made him sit in the car. They took the hostage to the ATM and got the money withdrawn. Pressured to arrange the remaining money.
After this the victim informed the police about the entire matter. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police started the investigation of the case. The team succeeded in arresting a gang. The police were also shocked to hear the statement given after this. The main accused Sushil Kumar was found wearing a fake police uniform at that time. The arrested accused include Sushil Kumar, Deepak alias Sajan, Vinod and Neeraj Tyagi. Two members – Gagan and Pooja alias Kirti are still absconding. Many things have come to light during the inquiry.

Sushil Kumar was caught in a similar case in 2017 also. His role was to pose as a fake police and conduct a raid. In return, he used to take 15 percent share in the amount collected. A similar case is already registered against Neeraj, Vinod and Deepak.
