1 big good news for teachers in UP, government gave instructions

Lucknow. An important relief news has come to light for teachers and non-teaching staff in Uttar Pradesh. The state government has taken a big step towards providing timely and transparent financial facilities to the employees working in non-government aided secondary schools.

Provision of Rs 75 lakh for distribution of Form-16

The State Directorate of Education has approved a sum of Rs 75 lakh to provide complete salary details of the financial year i.e. Form-16 to the teachers and employees free of cost. This step has been taken with the aim of making income tax related documents easily available to teachers and simplifying the process. This amount has been released under the budget for the year 2026-27 from the item ‘payment for professional and special services’, so that this scheme can be implemented smoothly.

Strict instructions given to DIOS

In this regard, clear instructions have been issued by the Finance Controller, Directorate of Secondary Education, Prayagraj to all the District School Inspectors (DIOS). It has been said in the instructions that all the processes related to Form-16 should be completed as per the financial rules and departmental orders of the government. If any kind of irregularity, double payment or wrong payment is found, the concerned officials will be held fully responsible.

The entire process will be done through Gem portal

The government has decided to make all payment processes through GeM portal to ensure transparency. This will not only speed up the process but will also reduce the possibility of financial irregularities. Along with this, instructions have also been given to all the districts to submit detailed details of expenditure in the prescribed format on time.

Emphasis on financial discipline

The Directorate has also clarified that this amount will be used only for the prescribed purpose. If any kind of financial irregularity is found then both the DIOS and the Finance and Accounts Officer will be held accountable. It has also been directed that if any amount is left at the end of the financial year, it will be mandatory to deposit it back as per rules before March 31, 2027.
