Chopan police gets big success, 01 accused arrested with illegal ganja

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma, supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Headquarters and Area Officer City and under the able leadership of In-charge Inspector Chopan, Chopan police station achieved significant success in the ongoing campaign to effectively curb crime, criminals and drugs.
On 17.05.2026, at around 01:30 am, the accused Deepnarayan Patel, son of Ratnesh Singh, resident of village Dhansiriya, Rajgarh district, Mirzapur, aged about 32 years, was arrested by the police station Chopan police team near the canal culvert, about 20 meters before the site of Ambedkar statue, from Bahadgram Markundi Tola Awai, police station Chopan. 01 kg 300 grams of illegal ganja was recovered in a white plastic bag from the possession of the accused.
On the basis of the said recovery, necessary legal action is being taken against the accused by registering FIR No. 180/2026 Section 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Chopan. The arresting police team included Inspector-in-charge Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, Police Station Chopan, Inspector General Atul Patel, Inspector Brijesh Kanojia.
