After announcing her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar, Mouni Roy made her first public appearance on Monday. The actor was spotted at Mumbai airport. Dressed casually, she avoided interacting with the paparazzi and declined to pose for photographs as she quickly made her way into the terminal. Mouni Roy and her husband, Suraj Nambiar, officially announced their separation, ending months of speculation surrounding their marriage. However, the couple chose not to reveal the reason behind their decision to part ways after four years together.

Soon after the announcement, Mouni was seen at the airport during the early hours of Monday, hurrying alone towards the departure gate. Since releasing the statement, the actress has remained silent about the separation. Reports also suggest that Mouni and Suraj had been living separately for the last few months. Suraj Nambiar is a Dubai-based businessman and investment banker by profession.

After announcing her separation from Suraj, Mouni made her first public appearance. Avoiding paparazzi, she quickly headed for security clearance. Dressed entirely in black, the actor politely declined to interact and chose not to engage with photographers waiting outside.

Mouni and Suraj released a joint statement confirming their separation. “We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably,” they wrote this while responding to attempts to sensationalise their private lives through ‘fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods’.

They further added, “After thoughtful reflection on evolving personal priorities, we have mutually chosen to move forward on separate paths with respect and understanding.” Seeking privacy to navigate through the phase privately, Mouni and Suraj assured that they would cherish their friendship throughout. “We sincerely appreciate your understanding, respect for our privacy, and the continued support extended to us during this time,” they stated, concluding the statement.

A Glimpse Into Mouni Roy’s Life

Mouni, a popular television and film actress in the Hindi entertainment industry, married businessman and investment banker Suraj. Before their wedding, she secretly travelled to Dubai to meet him and confirmed their relationship only during pre-wedding celebrations in Goa. Reports suggest actress Mandira Bedi played an important role in bringing them together. Mouni and Suraj got married in Goa following both Bengali and Malayali traditions. The couple organised intimate pre-wedding ceremonies attended only by close friends and family members, making the celebrations private, memorable and special for all attendees present.

On the work front, Mouni will next appear in David Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai alongside Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde. The romantic comedy releases on June 5. She reportedly shot in the U.K. for a key role. Mouni will also headline Ab Hisaab Hoga opposite Shaheer Shaikh. The project will be backed by MX Player soon.

The actress will also appear in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film The Wives. Shooting for the project has been completed, and post-production work is currently underway.
