Youtube brings amazing safety feature, it becomes easy to identify Deepfake video
Desk: A big change is happening on YouTube, a recent report said that the Google-owned company has introduced a powerful AI Deepfake Detection Tool which will be able to be used by all users above 18 years of age. This means that now not only celebrities and big influencers but all users will be able to request the removal of AI generated clones of their faces.
YouTube’s AI deepfake detection tool works like a digital bodyguard for your face. It’s similar to YouTube’s famous Content ID system, which automatically flags copyrighted music and movie clips, but instead of scanning audio, this new tool scans human faces.
The Verge reports that to setup this tool, users will have to submit a short selfie-style video of their face. After this, this AI tool constantly monitors the entire platform and scans newly uploaded videos to see if anyone is using a fake or altered version of your face.
If the system finds a match, it immediately alerts the user. After this, users can watch that video and make an official request to remove that content from YouTube. The special thing is that in most of the famous deepfake videos, politicians and pop stars are targeted. But, the technology of making fake videos has now become so easily available that even common people are becoming victims of cyber criminals and scammers.
