AAP Leader Deepak Singla Arrested By ED: After raid, AAP leader Deepak Singla arrested by ED, action in case related to bank fraud and money laundering
New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader Deepak Singla has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate today. ED had raided several locations in Delhi and Goa this morning itself. The investigating agency has taken this action in the bank fraud and money laundering case. Deepak Singla has contested elections from Vishwas Nagar assembly seat of Delhi. He is also the Goa co-in-charge of Aam Aadmi Party. Deepak Singla has been arrested on the basis of evidence found against him during the raid conducted in the bank fraud case of Rs 155 crore related to Haryana’s Mahesh Timber Private Limited Company. Recently, in another case, Sanjeev Arora, a minister in the AAP government of Punjab, was also arrested by the ED.

Apart from Singla, ED also raided the premises of Ram Singh, associated with Babaji Finance Group, in Subhash Nagar area of Delhi. ED alleges that Babaji Finance Group collected crores of rupees from the public and later transferred that amount to different places. ED is now investigating where and how the money collected from the people was used. The names of Mahesh Singla and Amrik Gill have also come up in this case. This matter is also related to money laundering which is being investigated. On the other hand, after completion of the custody period of Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora, ED today presented him in a court in Gurugram. First he was sent on remand for 7 days and later he was given remand for 2 days and ED got it.
