Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Norway. People of the Indian community in Norway warmly welcomed PM Modi. PM Modi said, “I am very happy to visit Norway. This country is a beautiful example of harmony between nature and human development. I express my heartfelt gratitude for this warm welcome.”

PM Modi said, “On behalf of the world’s largest democracy, I extend best wishes to the people of Norway on the important occasion of its Constitution Day tomorrow. I was supposed to come to Norway last year, but that visit had to be postponed due to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In that difficult time, Norway showed true friendship by standing with India against terrorism. Today when I have come to Norway, I express my heartfelt gratitude for this solidarity.”

The Prime Minister further said, “Today the world is going through a period of uncertainty and instability. Be it Ukraine or West Asia, there is a situation of conflict in many parts of the world. In such a situation, India and Europe are entering a new golden era of their relations.

Last year India and the European Free Trade Association implemented a historic trade and economic partnership. This agreement is the blueprint to ensure a shared development between India and Norway.
This agreement aims to create $100 billion investment and 1 million jobs in India in the next 15 years. We have taken several important decisions to translate this agreement into results. Today we are transforming India-Norway relations into a green strategic partnership.”

He said that with this partnership, our companies will find global solutions in every field from clean energy to climate resilience, blue economy to green shipping by combining India’s scale, speed and talent with Norway’s technology and capital.

Research, education and innovation have also become strong pillars of our relations. Today we have agreed to increase research cooperation in areas like sustainability, ocean energy, geology and health. We will make our partnership future-ready by connecting our universities and startup ecosystems in engineering, AI, cyber and digital areas. Our cooperation in skill development and mobility is also going to expand further.

Deeper collaboration across all these areas will help our scientists contribute to understanding climate change, protecting ecosystems and securing the future of humans. The green strategic partnership between India and Norway will be beneficial for the entire world.
