However, many people are unaware that as per the rules of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), you cannot update your personal information like name, date of birth and gender frequently.

But as per the strict rules of UIDAI, frequent changes of information entered in Aadhaar are not allowed. After marriage, women or men may need to change their name in Aadhaar due to some mistake. But keep in mind that you can change your name only 2 times in your life. The rules are even stricter when it comes to updating date of birth and gender; Both these information can be changed only once in a lifetime. If you want to make changes beyond this limit, you will have to take special permission from the regional office of UIDAI.

Facility to change mobile number and address
There is no maximum limit for changing some information. If you change city frequently due to job or other reasons, you can update your new address through the myAadhaar online portal as many times as you want. Similarly, if your old mobile number is switched off, you can link the new mobile number with Aadhaar without any restrictions. You can easily change this by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or through the UIDAI app.
fee for improvement
Fee will be ₹75
Any kind of correction in Aadhar card is not free. As per UIDAI rules, whether you change your address, add a new mobile number, or make a change in name, gender or date of birth, you will have to pay a fixed government fee of ₹75 for each update. After applying at an Aadhaar center or online, it may usually take 30 to 90 days for the new information to be updated in the system and the new digital card to be generated. Therefore, always enter your correct information to avoid banking and government frauds.
