Xiaomi’s mega event on May 21: New bands and earbuds including Xiaomi 17 Max smartphone will be launched, know the features

Xiaomi has officially announced that its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi 17 Max will be launched in China this week. This smartphone will be the fifth model of the Xiaomi 17 series, which will join the already existing Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

The company said that not only the smartphone, but Xiaomi Band 10 Pro and the company’s first clip-on TWS earbuds Xiaomi Ear Clip will also be introduced in the launch event. Apart from this, the company will also launch its new electric SUV Xiaomi YU7 GT (2026) in the event.

Will be launched on 21st May
Xiaomi informed through Weibo post that Xiaomi 17 Max will be launched in China on May 21 at 7 pm (4:30 pm Indian time). The company has also indicated that some new Xiaomi home appliances may also be introduced at the event, although their names have not been revealed yet.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor will be available
The company has already shared many features and design details of Xiaomi 17 Max. The smartphone will have Qualcomm’s flagship 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The same chipset will also be used in the other models of Xiaomi 17 series.

The phone will come with 8,000mAh battery
Xiaomi 17 Max will be provided with a large 8,000mAh battery, which will be the largest battery in the Xiaomi 17 series. This phone has been designed keeping in mind long backup and high-performance users.

leica camera setup will be special
For photography, the phone will have a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, which will be provided in a square camera module. It will have a 200MP primary camera, which will have a 1/1.4-inch sensor. Apart from this, 50MP ultrawide camera and 50MP periscope telephoto camera will also be provided.

The front camera for selfies and video calling will be present in the hole-punch cutout of the display.

Pre-order starts
Xiaomi 17 Max is currently available for pre-order in China. This smartphone will come in at least Blue and White color options. Pre-booking has also started for Xiaomi Band 10 Pro and Xiaomi Ear Clip. Xiaomi Ear Clip will be offered in Basalt Black, Pearl White and Satin Gold color options.
