Lucknow: At least eight people lost their lives and two others were critically injured when a van collided head-on with a truck on the Sisaiya-Lakhimpur national highway on Monday.
The accident occurred between Unchgaon and Bharehta villages while the van was traveling from Lakhimpur to Sisaiya.
Shamsher Bahadur Singh, Circle Officer of Dhaurahra, stated that the injured were immediately rushed to the district hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, and local traffic was briefly diverted to manage the scene.
