Upcoming Honda City Facelift Spotted Next To Volkswagen Virtus GT Before 22nd May Launch

Honda is all set to launch its updated Honda City facelift in the market. The sedan has already been spotted online, and we have come across several videos of it too. We have now come across a new set of images where the upcoming Honda City sedan is parked next to a Volkswagen Virtus GT, which is one of its main rivals.

The images have been circulating on various social media platforms. Both cars are parked next to each other. In the first image, we see the Honda City beside the Virtus. The new grille, revised headlamps, LED DRLs, and the new gloss-black grille give the sedan a fresh look. It looks a lot more sophisticated and sporty when compared to the Virtus.

The bumper on the new Honda City looks a lot sharper, and the sleek lower air dam along with the clamshell bonnet gives the car a clean look from the front. In fact, it would not be wrong to say that the Honda looks fresher than the Volkswagen here.

We also see Honda’s ADAS camera installed on the front windshield. It should be noted that the Virtus misses out on ADAS features completely. The Honda City also gets a 360-degree camera and a LaneWatch camera under the ORVM, both of which are missing in the Virtus.

Coming to the side profile, we see the new dual-tone gunmetal grey alloy wheels on the Honda City. The side profile of both sedans remains largely unchanged, and they continue to carry the typical three-box sedan design. On the roof, both cars get an electric sunroof, and we can also spot shark-fin antennas.

Coming to the rear, both sedans get sleek-looking tail lamp units. The City gets the same design as the outgoing model, but Honda has now given it a smoked clear-lens finish. The bumper has also been redesigned, and we can see honeycomb inserts in the lower section.

Coming to the cabin, the Virtus GT gets an all-black interior, which looks sporty. It offers features like seat ventilation, a digital instrument cluster, cruise control, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, adjustable rear headrests, and more. The upcoming Honda City, on the other hand, offers a beige-and-black dual-tone theme. It actually looks more premium than the sporty cabin of the Virtus because of the lighter colour theme. It offers almost all the features seen in the Virtus but misses out on adjustable rear headrests and electrically adjustable seats for the driver.

Coming to the engine, the Honda City facelift will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The Virtus is available with two engine options. The GT version seen here is powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 7-speed DSG transmission as standard.

Honda will also introduce a strong hybrid variant based on the same facelift. Volkswagen is also working on an update for the Virtus, and the same is expected to be launched later this year.
