Asia Cup Bridge 2026: The stage of ‘Asia Cup Bridge Championship’ will be set in Goa, more than 20 countries will participate
Goa. The Bridge Federation of India (BFI), the apex governing body of the ‘contract bridge’ game in the country, on Monday announced that the fifth season of the prestigious Asia Cup Bridge Championship will be organized in Goa from June 21 to 27. The Asia Cup tournament, held every four years, is considered the most prestigious continental bridge championship.
It is organized under the aegis of Asia Bridge fraternity, in which major countries of Asia and Oceania participate. Players from more than 20 countries are expected to participate in the competition this year. These include India, China, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
BFI President Prasad Kenny said, “This is the second time that India has had the honor of hosting the prestigious Asia Cup Bridge Championship. It reflects India’s growing reputation as a leading hub of global ‘mind sports’ and intellectual sports events.” The continental championship will feature men’s, women’s, mixed and senior team events as well as open and mixed pairs competitions. India had won 20 medals, including eight gold, in the last season of the event.
