Before the announcement, there will be an important meeting of selectors in Guwahati, in which the names of the players will be discussed.
There are also reports that the team can be selected later because some players are struggling with fitness problems. IPL 2026 will end on 31 May. As soon as the IPL ends, all the players will be busy preparing for the Test and ODI series to be played against Afghanistan.

Players will be selected keeping in mind their performance in IPL. The names of the players who have performed well this season will be stamped. In such a situation, the possibility of change in the Indian team is being seen.
According to reports, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may be rested. Whereas the selectors are thinking about Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. However, Rishabh Pant is expected to be dropped. His recent performance has not been anything special.
India’s schedule against Afghanistan
The one-off Test between Afghanistan and India will be played on June 6 in New Chandigarh from 9:30 am. The ODI series will start from June 14. The first series will be played in Dharamshala on June 14 at 1.30 pm. The second ODI match will be seen in Lucknow from 1.30 pm on 17th June. The third and last match will be played in the afternoon on June 20 in Chennai.
