Petrol Diesel Rate Today: Despite repeated assurances given by the Central Government regarding the availability of crude oil across the country, an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel was seen in many cities on Tuesday. This increase ranged from a few paisa to more than ₹ 1 per liter in some places. Last week, oil marketing companies had implemented a uniform increase in fuel rates across India. On May 15, the rates of both petrol and diesel were increased by ₹3 across the country. A day earlier, during a regular inter-ministerial briefing, the government had said that it could not guarantee whether fuel prices in India would rise further in the future.
In another related development, oil prices fell when US President Donald Trump said that he had canceled a planned attack on Iran. It was told that this attack was to take place on Tuesday, but it was canceled after the appeal of key allies present in the Persian Gulf.
