IPL 2026 GT vs CSK Playing 11: Matt Short and Gurjapneet Singh Returns to Super Kings Lineup

IPL 2026 GT vs CSK Playing 11: Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans will square off against Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Chennai Super Kings in the 66th match of the IPL 2026 on May 21 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

With CSK almost out of the tournament, their win in the upcoming game could give them a mathematical chance for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans will aim to secure a win and finish in the top two of the IPL 2026 points table. Out of 9 occasions, the Gujarat Titans have won 5 matches, while the Chennai Super Kings have won 4 matches.

Chennai Super Kings won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “We are going to bowl first. There will be some pace and bounce, and we want to explore it early on. We have two changes. Gurjapneet comes in for Akeal and Matt Short in place of Veer. It is about trusting the process, and we didn’t get the results our way. We want to keep it simple and turn it around.”

Meanwhile, GT captain Shubman Gill said, “We wanted to bowl first too, but now much due here. We have one change. Prasidh comes in place of Sai Kishore. Hopefully, we keep our intensity with the ball. The job is not done, and hopefully three good games from here.”
