Automaker Honda has launched its 2026 city car in the Indian market. The starting price of the updated version of this Cedar car is Rs 11,99,900 ex-showroom. This is the second major update in this car after 2023. Along with this, the company has also introduced the new ZR-V SUV for the first time.

Design and Features

The new car will be available in both petrol and e:HEV strong hybrid variants. It is the longest sedan in this segment with 4594 mm. The front of the car features new Blade Eye signature LED lighting, bi-LED projector headlamps, a center light bar incorporated into the front grille and a redesigned bumper. The rear gets Z-shaped LED tail lamps and a sporty trunk lip spoiler. It gets new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The car will now also be available in a new color called Crystal Black Pearl. Interior and security

Inside, the car has Ivory and Black two-tone interior. It features a 25.6 cm (10.1 in) floating touchscreen, 360-degree multi-view camera, ventilated seats, welcome ambient light and front and rear USB-C charging ports. It offers Honda Sensing Intelligent ADAS technology, which includes safety features like Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist.

Engine options and mileage

The first is the Strong Hybrid (e:HEV), a two-motor hybrid system. It produces 126 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque between 0 to 3000 rpm, and has a mileage of 27.26 km/h. It automatically switches between EV, hybrid and engine drive modes while driving.

Pure petrol engine option

It has a 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine. Along with this, there will be a choice of a 6-speed manual (MT) or a 7-speed CVT gearbox. It strikes a balance between sporty performance and good mileage. This engine produces 121 PS of power at 6600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4300 rpm. The mileage with the MT gearbox is 17.77 kmpl, while with the CVT gearbox it gives a mileage of 17.97 kmpl.

Variant option

The City Patrol is available in four MT variants namely SV, V, ZX and ZX+. CVT automatic transmission is available in V, ZX and ZX+ variants. The City e:HEV is available in the top-of-the-line ZX+ variant and is a powerful hybrid model. It also comes with many warranty offers.

warranty

The first is the standard warranty, which offers a standard warranty of 3 years and unlimited kilometers. Then there is the extended warranty, which customers can extend up to 7 years. This is followed by the Anytime Warranty, which can be extended up to 10 years or 1,20,000 km from the date of purchase. The e:HEV variant comes with a standard warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km on the lithium-ion battery. Apart from this, a new warranty of 5 years or 1 lakh km is being offered on parts of the hybrid system.
