Tehran does not budge! Superpower America sweats, Iran’s ‘secret’ proposal reaches Donald Trump’s table, will war be averted?

Amidst the severe tension that has been going on in the Middle East for the last several months, a very big news is coming out from the corridors of global diplomacy. US President Donald Trump’s strategy, which is resorting to stringent sanctions, military threats and air strikes to bring Iran to its knees, seems to be proving to be a complete failure at the moment. Despite heavy pressure from superpower America, Iran is completely firm on its stand. Meanwhile, contradictory statements coming from both the countries have confused the world. According to a recent report by international news agency Reuters, to break this deadlock, Iran has now put forward a very shocking and comprehensive new peace proposal to America, which has intensified the stir in Washington.

Terms far ahead of nuclear deal, Iran demands heavy war compensation from America

This new peace proposal of Iran is not limited to just the nuclear program, but it goes far beyond that. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazim Gharibabadi has confirmed in an interview to government news agency IRNA that Tehran has sent its new conditions to America through Pakistan. Iran has bluntly said in this proposal that America will have to immediately and completely remove all the economic sanctions imposed on it. Along with this, Iran’s government assets worth billions of dollars frozen abroad will have to be released unconditionally.

The most surprising thing is that this time instead of going on the back foot, Iran has come on the front foot and demanded compensation from America. Tehran has placed a condition that America will have to bear the entire damage caused by the huge devastation caused in Iran due to the American and Israeli military operation ‘Operation Epic Fury’ which started in late February. Apart from this, Iran has also included the demand for removal of US naval blockade from the world’s most important oil route ‘Hormuz Strait’ and complete withdrawal of US troops from Iran’s neighboring countries.

Pakistan became a mediator, Trump backed down under pressure from Qatar and Saudi Arabia?

Amidst this fierce diplomatic tug of war, Pakistan is playing the role of the main mediator between the two arch enemy countries. This new proposal has been submitted to the US administration after secret and overt peace talks held in Islamabad last month. Pakistani diplomatic sources have warned that the world does not have much time left to resolve this crisis. On the other hand, hopes of averting war were boosted when President Donald Trump himself gave positive signals in the White House.

While talking to reporters, Trump said that it seems that we will soon reach a big agreement and if this matter is resolved without bombing and bloodshed, I will be very happy with it. Trump also acknowledged on social media that top leaders of Gulf countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have appealed to him to postpone new attacks on Iran for the time being, because talks at the diplomatic level have every possibility of being successful.

America’s big U-turn on claims of relaxation in sanctions, huge uncertainty in the oil market

It is being claimed from Iran’s side that America has shown some flexibility in its tough stance in the backchannel talks. According to Iranian media Tasnim News Agency, Washington has given the green light for the partial release of some of Iran’s seized assets and to continue nuclear research on a limited scale under the strict supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

However, the White House is completely rejecting these claims. A senior US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the US has not given any temporary relaxation in the sanctions imposed on Iran’s oil exports and there is no truth in Iran’s claims. America says that they have already called these conditions of Iran as ‘nonsense’ and they will only talk about concrete reforms.

Even after the ceasefire, the shadow of drone attack looms over the Middle East and Gulf countries.

Even though both the countries are pretending to negotiate on the table, the tension on the ground is not showing any signs of reducing. Recently, deadly drone attacks from the soil of Iraq towards the oil installations of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have alerted the security agencies, the direct suspicion of which is being raised on the rebel groups supported by Iran.

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have already made it clear that the sole objective of their joint military operation is to forever bury Iran’s dream of making a nuclear bomb, paralyze its dangerous missile capability and break the back of its proxy militia network (Hezbollah and Houthis) spread across the Middle East. Now it remains to be seen whether this new 14-point formula of Iran prevents this great war or it is just a calm before a big storm.
