Administration alert to deal with heatwave in Hanumangarh, Collector Dr. Khushal Yadav issued special instructions for hospitals, electricity-water and workers.

In view of the continuously increasing heat and possible heatwave situation in the district, the district administration has become completely alert. In this sequence, a review meeting was organized in the District Collectorate auditorium on Friday under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Khushal Yadav. All the subdivision officers of the district participated in the meeting through video conferencing. The main objective of the meeting was to reduce the impact of heatwave and ensure the safety of the general public, workers, animals and birds.
In the meeting, the District Collector instructed the Health Department that separate beds should be reserved in hospitals for the patients affected by the heatwave. Besides, adequate arrangements of fans, coolers, air conditioners, drinking water, essential medicines and ambulances should be ensured in hospitals. He also directed to issue advisory to the general public regarding protection from heatwave.
The district administration also showed seriousness regarding electricity and water supply system. The Collector directed the concerned departments to maintain uninterrupted power supply in hospitals and pump houses, regularly check the load of transformers and keep necessary equipment available for fire prevention. The Public Health Engineering Department was asked to regularly clean the drinking water tanks and ensure adequate drinking water supply for the common people as well as the animals.
In the meeting, instructions were given to conduct the vaccination work of children at Anganwadi centers in the morning and evening, so that they can be protected from the scorching heat. The Ayurveda Department was asked to make people aware through Yogashalas and ensure availability of essential medicines. The Animal Husbandry Department was instructed to make adequate arrangements for shade, water and medicines for the animals.
The city council was asked to install kiosks at bus stands, markets and crowded areas and maintain regular water supply. Apart from this, emphasis was also laid on ensuring provision of shade and drinking water at workplaces for MNREGA workers, brick-kiln laborers and sanitation workers.
Special initiatives were also taken in the meeting regarding the protection of birds. The District Collector gave instructions to run a bird tying campaign in the entire district with the help of scouts and social organizations, so that water can be available to the birds in the scorching heat.
Collector Dr. Khushal Yadav directed all SDMs to regularly inspect hospitals, drinking water sources and cow shelters and said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.
ADM Ummedi Lal Meena, SDM Mangilal, Municipal Council Commissioner Surendra Yadav, CMHO Dr. Navneet Sharma and officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
