Tamil Nadu boils over murder of innocent child in Coimbatore, strict action taken by CM Joseph Vijay
The sensational incident of brutal murder of a 10 year old innocent girl in the industrial city of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has shaken the entire state. There is huge anger among the public and opposition parties regarding this heinous crime. Amidst all-round pressure and sharp arrows from the opposition, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay) on Saturday has officially promised to take prompt and strictest punitive action in this matter. The Chief Minister described this inhuman act as extremely horrifying and unforgivable. He informed the people of the state that taking prompt action in this case, two main accused have been arrested and strict instructions have been given to the police to conduct a detailed and scientific investigation of the case within 24 hours. CM Joseph Vijay’s tough stance: ‘Will not tolerate unforgivable and inhuman act’ Chief Minister Joseph Vijay expressed his deep condolences and outrage on the social media platform Expressing his deep condolences to the victim’s family, he further wrote, ‘This horrific incident in Coimbatore is a bad stain on our society. In our civilized society, such inhuman and unforgivable criminal acts against women and children cannot be tolerated at any cost. Our government is determined to ensure that the criminals who committed this heinous act are brought under the ambit of the law and given the harshest punishment. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s sharp attack: ‘More than 30 serious incidents took place in the 12 days of the new government’ After this painful incident came to light, senior leader of the state’s main opposition party DMK (DMK) and former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has directly raised questions on the law and order policy of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. Taking on the government on social media, Udhayanidhi Stalin said, ‘This heinous crime has shaken the conscience of the entire country. The demand for justice for the soul of the innocent girl is being raised from all sides. Making serious allegations of administrative failure on the Vijay government, Udhayanidhi said, ‘It has been only 12 days since this new government came to power in Tamil Nadu and within these 12 days, more than 30 serious criminal incidents including sexual crimes, murder and ganja smuggling have been registered against women in the state. Now the kidnapping and murder of an innocent child in Coimbatore is proof that the law and order situation in the state has completely broken down. On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, I demand from the Chief Minister that he should leave aside political programs and make law and order his top priority. Palaniswami and TTV Dinakaran also attacked AIADMK chief and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami also expressed strong objection to the alleged negligence of the government. He wrote on Twitter, ‘It is extremely sad and shameful that this new government, which is obliged to ensure the safety of women and innocent children of the state, has failed to prevent such major incidents.’ Palaniswami alleged that the police arrested two people after hours of massive protest by the local people on the streets, which shows how lazy the administration is. It is a big negligence on the part of the government to not save the innocent life in time. On the other hand, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) chief TTV Dhinakaran on Saturday also demanded the Tamil Nadu government to impose strictest legal sections against criminals without any leniency. He said that the enemies of the society who committed this inhuman act should be given such punishment which would set an example for future criminals.
