Azam Khan’s troubles increased: Sentence increased by three years in two PAN card cases, son Abdullah’s sentence remained intact for seven years

Rampur. The troubles of Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam are not decreasing. MP-MLA Sessions Court has given a big verdict in two PAN card cases. Accepting the government’s appeal, the court has increased Azam Khan’s imprisonment from seven years to 10 years. Along with this, the fine of Rs 50 thousand has been increased to Rs 5 lakh. At the same time, the punishment of Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam has been upheld but the fine of Rs 50,000 imposed on him has been increased to Rs 4 lakh.

Actually, in this case last year, the Magistrate Court had given its verdict on Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam. Both were sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each. After the verdict, the defense had filed an appeal against the sentence, while the prosecution had appealed in the MP-MLA Sessions Court seeking increase in the sentence. At the same time, after completion of the arguments of both the parties on the appeal regarding increase in punishment, the court has given its verdict on Saturday.

Two years imprisonment in hate speech case also
Not only this, earlier during the Lok Sabha elections, Azam Khan had made controversial remarks on the then DM of Rampur. Calling the DM a ‘tankhaiya’, he had asked him to get his shoes cleaned, the video of which had gone viral on social media. Azam Khan was sentenced to two years imprisonment in this case. Besides, a fine of Rs 20 thousand was also imposed.
