Changes in many indices of BSE under the half yearly restructuring process.
New Delhi. Index Services of BSE has announced changes in four major benchmark indices. These changes in BSE 100, BSE Sensex 50, BSE Sensex Next 50 and BSE Focused IT Index will become effective as soon as trading starts on June 22 next month.
Under this change, shares of some companies have been included in these three benchmark indices, while shares of some have been excluded.
According to the information given by Index Services of BSE, these changes have been made in the benchmark indices as part of the half-yearly restructuring process of the stock exchange. The stock exchange reviews the benchmark indices every six months.
Under this review, shares of some companies are included in the benchmark indices, while shares of some companies are excluded from the benchmark indices on the basis of their performance.
Ashok Leyland, CG Power and Industrial Solutions and One 97 Communications i.e. Paytm will be included in the new addition to BSE 100 as part of the half-yearly restructuring process.
These three companies will replace Ambuja Cements, Colgate Palmolive India and Tube Investments of India in the BSE 100. This also means that these three companies will be out of the BSE 100 index.
Similarly, there has been a change in BSE Sensex 50 also. However, shares of only one company have been excluded from this index. In its place, shares of another company have been included in the index.
TVS Motor Company has been included under the new change. On the other hand, Adani Enterprises has been excluded from the BSE Sensex 50.
The interesting thing is that under the new change, Adani Enterprises has come out of BSE Sensex 50 and has joined the BSE Sensex Next 50 index.
Whereas TVS Motor Company has left BSE Sensex Next 50 and made its place in BSE Sensex 50 index. Meaning, these two companies have just exchanged their positions in two different indices.
Apart from this, L&T Technology Services has been included in the BSE Focused IT Index. This company will replace Cyient in the index. This means that after June 22, Cyient will be out of the BSE Focused IT Index.
