Government shocked after seeing 2 crore followers of ‘Cockroach Janata Party’! Prashant Kishore told the whole truth behind this

Jhanjharpur: These days, a unique and mysterious campaign named ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ on social media has created a stir across the country. Amidst this uproar on the internet, a very shocking statement of election strategist turned leader and Jan Suraj Party leader Prashant Kishore (PK) has come to light. While talking to media persons in Jhanjharpur, Bihar on Saturday (May 23, 2026), PK revealed the layers of this strange named trend and the politics related to it.

Speaking openly on this issue, Prashant Kishore said that it was started by a common man as an online campaign. Today, there is an uproar over this in the political circles and mainstream media of the entire country because within just a few days, more than 20 million (2 crore) people have started following it on Instagram.

‘The leader is not known, but there are alarm bells for the government’

Explaining the strength of this campaign and its impact on the government, Prashant Kishore said, “It is true that no political party named ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ officially exists. Neither has any written policy of this so-called party come out nor does anyone have any information about its real leader or face. But despite this, if 2 crore people suddenly come together on one social media platform and express their views against the present government, then it is a matter of great concern for the present government. “It should happen.”

PK further launched a scathing attack and said that this shocking figure clearly shows how large a number of people in our society are deeply unhappy and troubled with the current administrative and political system. This anger of the public is coming out in this form on social media.

Will PK himself contest in Bankipur by-election?

During the press conference, the media also asked Prashant Kishore a direct question about the upcoming by-election on the famous Bankipur assembly seat of Bihar. Actually, Nitin Naveen, who was a continuous MLA from Bankipur seat, has now become the National President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), after which this seat has become vacant. PK was asked whether as per the discussions he himself was going to contest from Bankipur?

Answering this question smilingly, Prashant Kishore said that there is complete consensus within the party that Jan Suraj Party will contest elections from Bankipur Assembly seat. Making a big claim, he said that today if any political party can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bankipur, it is only Jan Suraj.

He said that this time the people of Bankipur have full faith that Jan Suraj will field a very strong ally from there. However, who will be the candidate will be completely decided by the core committee of the party. When journalists asked him why he himself did not want to contest the elections, whereas even during the last assembly elections he had refused to contest the elections? To this PK replied, “There are many different ways of taking up the responsibility of the party and the society. It is not at all necessary for the person who is taking up the responsibility to contest the elections himself. At that time, considering the paucity of time and some constraints, I had decided not to contest the elections. Whatever decision the party takes in the future, it will be seen.”

Broken silence on stay in ashram and break of National President Uday Singh

When Prashant Kishore was asked that there are reports that you have now started living completely in the ashram and your party’s national president Uday Singh has also suddenly taken a long break from Jan Suraj for a year? Is everything not well within the party? On this, PK clarified the situation and said that these two are completely different things and have nothing to do with each other.

Referring to the Bhitiyaharwa Ashram, he said, “When the results of the Bihar Assembly elections were announced, all of us went to the Bhitiyaharwa Ashram and observed a one-day silent fast. After the same fast, we made a public announcement to the public that for the first six months of the formation of the new government, we will only work to strengthen and reorganize our organization at the grassroots level. After the completion of six months, I myself will start the ‘Bihar Navnirman Abhiyan’.”

PK further said, “I had also sworn at that time that until there is a complete change in Bihar, I will not live in a luxurious house or residential complex in Patna or any city. I will always spend my time in the ashram among the general society and poor people. I had made this announcement on 20 November 2025 and exactly after completion of six months, on 20 May, I have gone to live in the same ashram.”

At the same time, on the question of Jan Suraj’s national president Uday Singh staying away from politics, Prashant Kishore rejected all speculations. He said, “Uday Singh is our very preferred and respected colleague. I have a sacred relationship with him like a real brother. Even today, he remains firmly in Jan Suraj. Even today, the official national president of our party is Uday Singh. He has only taken a short break from active politics for a year due to some very personal and personal reasons, which is absolutely normal. He is the president of Jan Suraj and will remain in Jan Suraj, there is no change or doubt in it.”
