UP MLC Elections: BJP announces 5 candidates for graduate and teacher constituencies

Lucknow, 24 May. The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the names of the candidates for the Legislative Council elections for the proposed graduate and teacher constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.

The names of candidates on five seats have been approved in the list released by the Central Election Committee of the party. With the announcement of candidates, political activity has intensified in UP.

Interestingly, the party has fielded no new candidates in the elections and has expressed confidence only in all its old Legislative Council members. In this sequence, for Lucknow graduate Eng. Avnish Kumar Singh has been made the candidate. Dr. Manvendra Pratap Singh will be the candidate for Agra graduation. The names of Dr. Hari Singh Dhillon have been announced for Bareilly-Moradabad teacher, Umesh Dwivedi for Lucknow teacher election and Srichand Sharma for Meerut teacher election. All of them are currently also members of the Legislative Council.

In the selection of candidates, considerable importance has been given to regional hold, organizational experience and their influence among teachers and graduates. BJP is busy preparing its strategy to register its strong presence in this election.
