Vande Ganga campaign will start from tomorrow in Rajasthan

Rajasthan government will start Vande Ganga water conservation campaign from May 25. In this 12-day long campaign, cleaning of water sources, Shramdaan and public awareness programs will be organised.

Jaipur: With the aim of making water conservation a mass movement in Rajasthan, the state government is going to start ‘Vande Ganga Water Conservation Mass Campaign’ from May 25. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will start it with water worship at Bisalpur Dam in Tonk. The campaign will run till World Environment Day on June 5 and a target of participation of lakhs of people has been set.

Campaign will be launched from Bisalpur Dam

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will start the campaign on Sunday by performing water worship at Bisalpur Dam in Tonk and Abhishek in Shiva temple. After this he will also conduct aerial survey of Isarda, Bandh Baretha and Galwa Dam.

After reaching Bharatpur in the evening, the Chief Minister will participate in Aarti at Ganga Mata Temple and lamp donation program at Sujanganga Canal. The government is presenting this campaign as a big initiative to increase public awareness towards water conservation.

Thousands of programs will be held in villages and cities

Under the campaign, cleaning of wells, ponds, stepwells and canals, Shramdaan and puja programs will be organized across the state. Panchayats, voluntary organizations, religious organizations, women and youth have been included in it.

Prabhat fairs and competitions will be organized in schools, while women of Rajivika groups will take out Kalash Yatras. The government aims to establish water conservation as not just a government scheme but as a social responsibility.

Will end on June 5th

The campaign will be concluded with district level programs on World Environment Day on 5th June. During this period, “Jal Gaurav Samman” will be given to Bhamashahs, Panchayats and institutions who have made better contribution in water conservation.

According to government data, last year during this campaign, more than 3.70 lakh programs were organized in the state and about 2.53 crore people participated.
