What are the benefits of the ₹51 plan?

In this new freedom offer of BSNL, many important facilities are being provided to the new users at a very low price. On selecting this plan, customers will first be given a new BSNL SIM card without any extra cost. Usually, to get a new SIM, customers have to pay separately or choose the expensive FRC (First Recharge Coupon) option.

The main benefits available under the plan are as follows:

  • Data: Users will get 2GB high-speed data every day in this plan.
  • SMS: Along with this, the facility of 100 free SMS daily is also included.
  • Free SIM: A new SIM card will be activated without any extra charge.

Only new customers will get benefits

The company has clarified that this offer is not for currently active connections. If you want to recharge your old SIM, this plan will not be available on your number. Its direct benefit will be given to those people who are troubled by the expensive plans of private telecom companies (Jio, Airtel, Vi) and want to shift to BSNL or want to get a new number.

“This move by BSNL directly targets those users who want to have a secondary SIM in a low budget or want to avoid expensive recharge. Waiver of SIM card cost is a better strategy to onboard new customers.”

What will be its impact on the general public?

After the continuous increase in the prices of their plans by private telecom companies, common consumers are looking for cheaper options. This ₹ 51 plan of BSNL can prove to be very helpful for those students and people of rural areas who need more data at less cost. However, customers need to keep in mind that they can get a new SIM card under this freedom offer only by visiting their nearest BSNL Customer Service Center (BSNL CSC) or authorized retailer. While taking SIM, it is mandatory to carry important documents (like Aadhar card) with you.
