Giribala on bail in Twisha case, many big questions raised in Supreme Court
New Delhi:The Supreme Court of the country has taken a tough stance in the suspicious death case of Madhya Pradesh’s famous and very sensitive Twisha Sharma. Seeing the seriousness of the case, the Supreme Court took cognizance of it and during the hearing held on Monday, raised many sharp questions ranging from the functioning of the local police to the influential attitude of the main accused.
Why is CBI investigation necessary?
The court made it clear that it is very important for the CBI to investigate the matter to get to the bottom of it and to separate the matter from milk and water. Along with this, the court has given strict instructions to both the parties to stop the media trial.

Expressing deep concern, the Supreme Court said that due to the accused Giribala Singh being a retired judge, a narrative is being created in the society that the investigation by the local police is not being fair. Decision to hand over to CBI
To remove this apprehension, the decision to hand over the investigation of the case to CBI with immediate effect was taken on record. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured the court that the central agency will take over the case diary and all the documents related to the investigation from today itself so that a completely impartial investigation can proceed without any hindrance.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the government, told the court that the accused Giribala Singh was not cooperating at all in the investigation. The legal team advocating on behalf of Twisha Sharma’s family expressed apprehension that the hearing may be affected due to the influence of influential people within the state, hence can this case be sent outside the state? Clarifying the situation, the Chief Justice said that there is no legal restriction on this. The victim’s family has the full right to file an official transfer petition in the Supreme Court at any time for a fair legal fight.
