‘Uske Saath’ And ‘Khwab’ Plays Performed With Touching Intensity: Poignant staging of the plays ‘Uske Saath’ and ‘Khwab’ took place in Delhi, the audience’s eyes became moist.
New Delhi. On the evening of 24th May, two plays ‘Khwab’ and ‘Uske Saath’ were emotionally staged under the writing and direction of Alok Shukla by the Rewa and Delhi units of the relevant organization in the black canvas of LTG Auditorium, Delhi. The first presentation of the evening was the play ‘Uske Saath’ which lasted almost an hour. This play, in front of its author, was based on the life of a rape victim based on a true incident that happened in Mumbai in 1997, where a woman was giving birth to a child on the divider of a busy street of Mumbai. Keeping this incident at the centre, the entire life of a girl was depicted in this drama.

Kavita’s poignant acting in the central role of the play ‘Uske Saath’ greatly impressed the audience. Advocate Tekchand Rajput playing various roles like inspector, stranger, husband, son, attendant etc., Alok Shukla in the role of writer, Vijay Lakshmi in the role of doctor and shelter home operator, Pratap Singh in the role of sir and uncle, Vinay Sharma in the role of Mandar, Anjali Mathur in the role of constable and Mahi in the role of a little girl did an excellent job. The excellent music of the play was given by Abhyuday Mishra and Ashish Mittal. Tekchand took the responsibility of lighting and stage decoration and Vinay and Nikhil Kumar played the supporting role while Vinay Sharma contributed in sound and Vijay Lakshmi and Neetu Shukla contributed in costume decoration.

After this, the second performance of this evening of about an hour was the play ‘Khwab’ which was basically a one-act play based on the condition of the elderly where an old man calling himself ‘Bhara Pura’ gives the audience the feeling that he is living very happily with the whole family but in the end it is revealed that he is living in an old age home which has been thrown out of the house by his children. The central role of this play was brilliantly played by the play writer and director Alok Shukla himself, while Advocate Tekchand Rajput in the role of the stranger and the attendant of the old age home and Vijay Lakshmi ji in the voice of the wife and Kavita in the voice of the daughter-in-law performed their work excellently.

The excellent music of the play ‘Khwab’ was given by Sandeep Mukherjee and Navneet Pandey, Tekchand Prakash and others were involved in stage decoration and sound, while Vinay and Nikhil played supporting roles. Pratap Singh and associates Mridul Kumar and Saurabh Shakti. Both played the role of backstage leader in the plays. The presentations of both the plays were greatly appreciated by the audience present. It is noteworthy that this was the tenth staging of both these plays, before this these plays had been staged in Rewa, Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Saharanpur, Giridih, Alwar, Roorkee, Kerala and Indore.
