Nagpur, 25 May. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, while unveiling the ethanol-based indigenous cooking stove technology at an event here on Monday, claimed that cooking on this new stove will be much cheaper than commercial LPG.
To increase interest in science among youth and children. 40 New initiative worth crores of rupees
Addressing the program, Nitin Gadkari said that in this stove, suitable flame can be generated by mixing 7 percent ethanol with water. This technology has been completely developed in India. On this occasion, he also announced the launch of a new initiative of Rs 40 crore to increase interest in science among youth and children.
Gadkari’s emphasis on ethanol
It is noteworthy that Nitin Gadkari has been a major supporter of promoting ethanol for a long time. He said that this technology is an important step towards reducing dependence on fossil fuels, increasing the income of farmers and promoting clean energy. India currently imports about 87 percent of its crude oil needs. The government is rapidly increasing ethanol blending in petrol, from 1.53% in 2014 to 20% in 2025.
Ethanol stove prepared with cheap technology is also environment friendly
If this ethanol stove is commercialized on a large scale, millions of families can get relief from the expensive cost of LPG cylinders. It also presents a new option towards clean energy and self-reliant India. Gadkari stressed that this indigenously developed technology is not only cheap but also environment friendly. This initiative reflects the government’s vision towards promoting the use of ethanol in the domestic cooking sector.
