Honda Cars India recently launched the much-anticipated Honda City facelift sedan in the Indian market. The new City features cosmetic design changes, updated interior, added features and much more. The sedan continues to rival the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna in the Indian market. Interested customers can book the new City online or by visiting their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. In this article, let’s compare the new Honda City with the Hyundai Verna facelift. Honda City facelift vs Hyundai Verna facelift: Price, Variants The entry-level SV petrol manual variant is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The V trim costs Rs 13.29 lakh for the manual and Rs 14.29 lakh for the CVT. The ZX variant is priced at Rs 15.25 lakh for the manual and Rs 16.25 lakh for the CVT. The top-of-the-line ZX+ variant is priced at Rs 16.14 lakh for the manual, Rs 17.14 lakh for the CVT. The strong hybrid variant is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Verna facelift receives new variant names and is offered in six variants – HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8, and HX10. It’s priced between Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 18.25 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

Honda City facelift vs Hyundai Verna facelift: Dimensions The Hyundai Verna facelift measures 4,535 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, 1,475 mm in height, has a 2,670 mm wheelbase, 165 mm ground clearance, and a 528-litre boot space. The Honda City facelift measures 4,584 mm in length, 1,748 mm in width, 1,489 mm in height, has a 2,600 mm wheelbase, 165 mm ground clearance, and a 506-litre boot space.Compared to the Honda City facelift, the Hyundai Verna facelift is 49 mm shorter, 17 mm wider and 14 mm lower. The Verna also has a 70 mm longer wheelbase and offers 22 litres more boot space, while both sedans have the same 165 mm ground clearance.Honda City facelift vs Hyundai Verna facelift: Powertrain The Hyundai Verna gets two engine options – a 1.5 litre NA petrol with 115 PS and 143 nm torque, and comes paired to a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Another engine option is a 160 hp, 253 nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT. The Honda City is offered in two engine options – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine that puts out 121bhp and 145Nm of torque and comes paired either with a 6-speed MT or a CVT gearbox. There’s also a segment-first hybrid powertrain offer, a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle hybrid engine with 124 hp and 253 nm torque. The carmaker claims a fuel efficiency of 27.26kpl for the hybrid version.

Honda City facelift vs Hyundai Verna facelift: Features Moving inside the new Honda City, the overall layout is the same, but it now gets a few cosmetic changes. It now features a bigger 10.1 -inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, 8-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging pad, a sunroof, rear windscreen sunshade, automatic climate control and more. Safety-wise, it continues to get six airbags, ABS, EBD, TCS, lane watch camera, rain-sensing wipers, hill-start assist and Level 2 ADAS.

The Verna facelift gets features such as leatherette seat upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat and a four-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat, dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, Bose speakers, a surround-view camera, a Level-2 ADAS suite, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, a blind-spot monitor, a rear window sunshade, connected car tech, a built-in dashcam, seven airbags and much more.
