Chief Minister of Rajasthan on the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra Bhajanlal Sharma Today, he performed statewide puja at Shri Mahadev Temple situated in Bisalpur Dam. ‘Vande Ganga Water Conservation Public Campaign’ Launched. On this occasion, the Chief Minister wished for water prosperity, environmental protection and public welfare in the state.
This special campaign started by the state government will be run from 25 May 2026 to 5 June 2026 i.e. World Environment Day. The main objective of the campaign is to make water conservation a mass movement, promote rain water harvesting and give impetus to the conservation and renovation of traditional water sources.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma formally launched the campaign by offering prayers at the historical Shri Mahadev Temple located at Bisalpur Dam. During this, he wished for the happiness, prosperity and better water future of the people of the state.
During the program, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of various works related to water conservation and water management. He directed the concerned officials that all water conservation works should be completed with quality, transparency and timeliness.
The Chief Minister said that in a water crisis affected state like Rajasthan, water conservation is not only a government responsibility but a moral responsibility of every citizen. He said that the state government is continuously working for conservation, promotion and effective management of water resources.
They said that –
“If there is water, there is tomorrow. Every drop of water is priceless and it is the collective responsibility of all of us to save it.”
Appealing to the people of the state, the Chief Minister said that they should join this campaign in maximum numbers and make water conservation a resolution of every person.
The campaign will run from 25 May to 5 June
Under ‘Vande Ganga Water Conservation Public Campaign’, various programs related to water conservation and environmental awareness will be organized across the state.
Special attention will be given to the following key tasks during the campaign:
- Promote rain water harvesting
- Restoration of traditional water sources
- Cleaning of ponds, stepwells and wells
- Public awareness towards water saving
- Programs related to environmental protection
- Water conservation campaign in every village
The aim of the government is to make water conservation a social movement rather than just a government scheme.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the state government is working with the aim of building a “water self-reliant and green Rajasthan”. He said that the solution to the water crisis is not possible only through new projects, but through public participation and awareness.
He directed the officials to ensure effective implementation of all the schemes so that the coming generations do not have to face water crisis.
This campaign will not be limited to water conservation only, but will also promote environmental protection and promotion of natural resources. The state government believes that water and environment are interconnected and conservation of both is necessary.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people to take active participation in planting trees, saving water and conserving natural resources.
The state government is preparing to take this campaign to every village and city. Schools, colleges, social institutions, panchayats and voluntary organizations will also be associated with the campaign.
The aim of the government is that water conservation should not be just a government program but should become a social responsibility.
