New Delhi. A large number of police have reached the residence of Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee at 188A Harish Mukherjee Road in Kolkata. It is being told that a notice was issued to them by the Municipal Corporation regarding illegal construction, now as soon as the deadline of the notice ended, the police reached there to take action. It is also being claimed in the media report that Kolkata Police raided Abhishek Banerjee’s house and seized some important documents including computer, monitor from there.

In the video viral on social media, a police officer can be seen taking away a big monitor from Abhishek Banerjee’s house. The official reason why the police went to the TMC leader’s house is not clear at the moment. It is noteworthy that Kolkata Municipal Corporation had started investigation against several properties owned or co-owned by Abhishek Banerjee. In this regard, notices were issued by the Municipal Corporation highlighting 17 properties of Banerjee. The Municipal Corporation had pasted copies of these notices on the walls of all those properties.

After receiving the notice, Abhishek Banerjee had written a letter to the Municipal Corporation asking for time to respond to the notice. Now it is being said that after the completion of the seven-day deadline, the police team has reached his house. On the other hand, the news of a large number of police forces arriving at the house of TMC leader Banerjee has created a stir in the political circles as well. After this news, TMC workers and supporters are also slowly gathering outside Abhishek Banerjee’s house. TMC workers are targeting the state government, calling it an act of political vendetta.
