Leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin Retirement News: Leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin on Monday announced his retirement from IPL and domestic cricket. Murugan has represented Tamil Nadu in different formats including IPL. Murugan Ashwin shared the announcement of his retirement on his Instagram account. In the post, Ashwin talked about his cricket journey from childhood, his experiences in Tamil Nadu cricket and IPL.

During his IPL career, this player represented the teams Rising Pune Supergiant, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals.

Sharing his cricket experiences, spinner Ashwin wrote in an Instagram post, ‘Ever since I started playing cricket at the age of 6, I have been deeply in love with this game. It has given me a lot. Cricket has made me the person I am today. It has given me a chance to express myself fully on the field. This journey so far has been incredible. Keeping this in mind, I would like to share an update with all of you.

Confirmation of retirement from cricket career

Confirming his decision to retire from IPL and domestic cricket, Murugan Ashwin said, “I would like to announce that I have decided to end my domestic cricket career and my journey in the IPL. However, I will look for new challenges and opportunities. I look forward to continuing playing this game with full competition as always.

He also thanked the IPL franchise. Ashwin said, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rising Pune Supergiant, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, whom I represented during my IPL career.

Ashwin also spoke about the opportunity to share the dressing room with the legends and said, “My decade-long experience in the IPL has given me the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the greats of the game and play under the captaincy of legendary cricketers like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma. These experiences have helped me work on myself and become a better cricketer since my debut in 2016.

Ashwin thanked BCCI. He wrote, I would like to thank BCCI for organizing such a wonderful tournament, which is getting bigger and better every year.
