Ferrari Luce Launch: First EV supercar with 310kmph top speed & what makes this model so different?
New Delhi: Italian luxury carmaker Ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari Luce, its first fully electric production model, marking a major milestone in the company’s history. Revealed in Rome, the vehicle represents Ferrari’s bold entry into the high-performance EV segment while maintaining its signature focus on driving emotion and engineering excellence.
New Design Language
Developed on a dedicated electric architecture, the Luce is described by Ferrari as a completely new creation rather than a conventional evolution of existing models. Designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative group led by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson, the car adopts a sleek fastback grand tourer form with four doors and rear-hinged rear doors.
The exterior features a smooth glasshouse design, sculpted aluminum bodywork and advanced aerodynamic elements. Ferrari has also equipped the Luce with its largest wheels to date, measuring 23 inches at the front and 24 inches at the rear.
First-Ever Five-Seat Ferrari Cabin
Inside, the Luce introduces a five-seat layout made possible by the flat EV platform. The cabin takes a minimalist approach, combining digital innovation with physical controls. A 10-inch adjustable central touchscreen and a 12.5-inch OLED driver display form the core interface, while traditional Ferrari design elements such as the Manettino dial remain intact.
Premium materials, including recycled aluminium, leather and high-end glass finishes, dominate the interior. The model also includes a 21-speaker audio system and significantly improved practicality with a 597-litre boot.
Quad-Motor Power and Performance
The Ferrari Luce is powered by a quad-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 1050hp and 990Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–100kmph in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of over 310kmph.
Built on an 800V platform with a 122kWh battery, the EV offers a range of more than 530km and supports fast charging up to 350kW. Ferrari claims advanced torque vectoring and active suspension systems ensure sharp handling despite the car’s 2260kg weight.
Redefining Ferrari’s Future
Ferrari says the Luce is not a replacement for combustion models but an expansion of its lineup. With its blend of electric innovation and performance heritage, the Luce represents a significant step in Ferrari’s evolving vision for future mobility and driving engagement.
