WhatsApp Features- WhatsApp’s new Spoiler Message feature, know how it will work

Friends, as we all know, WhatsApp is the world’s most popular instant messaging app, which has more than 4 crore users, for which it brings new features, one such new feature is “Spoiler Messages.” It is designed to give users another layer of control over sensitive chats. This upcoming feature aims to make private messaging even more secure and convenient.

Similar to Telegram’s Spoiler feature, WhatsApp users will soon be able to blur or hide sensitive text—like OTPs, passwords, confidential information, or surprise details—before sending it to others.

A demo video shared on X (formerly Twitter), a platform known for tracking upcoming features for WhatsApp, shows how Spoiler Messages work. This feature hides the selected text behind a blurred overlay, which the receiving user can see only when he taps on it.

How WhatsApp Spoiler Message feature works

• First, type your message in the chat box.

• Long-press on the text and select the part you want to hide.

• After selecting text, common options like Translate, Cut, Copy, and Select All will appear.

• Tap the three-dot “More Options” menu.

• A list of formatting options will appear, including Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, Monospace, and the new “Spoiler” option.

• Select “Spoiler”, and the selected text will automatically appear blurred to users who receive it.

• To view and read the message, the receiving user must tap on the hidden text.

More features may come soon

WhatsApp may also bring spoiler support for photos and videos in the future, allowing users to hide visual content as well. This can be especially useful for sharing confidential media or avoiding unwanted spoilers in conversations.
