FIH Pro League: Indian team announced under the captaincy of Harmanpreet, India will face Pakistan-England

New Delhi. Hockey India on Wednesday announced the 24-member Indian men’s hockey team for the European leg of the FIH Pro League 2025-26.

Star defender Harmanpreet Singh will once again take over the captaincy, returning to the side after missing the Hobart leg in February due to personal reasons.

The Indian team will face strong teams like Netherlands, Germany, England and Pakistan during this tour. This tour is considered very important in terms of preparations for the upcoming Hockey World Cup.

Preparation in Belgium, then matches in Netherlands and England
The Indian team will play preparation camp and practice matches in Brussels, Belgium from June 7 to 9. After this, the team will remain in Rotterdam, Netherlands from June 10, where Pro League matches will be played.

After the Rotterdam phase, the Indian team will go to London, England, where there will be matches against Pakistan and England.

Balanced mix of experienced and young players
The team has a balanced mix of experienced players and young talent. The selectors have laid emphasis on strengthening the core team keeping the upcoming World Cup in mind.

The defense line includes captain Harmanpreet Singh along with Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh and young player Amandeep Lakra.

The responsibility of midfield will be on experienced players like Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad and Raj Kumar Pal. In attack, dynamic forwards like Mandeep Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Abhishek and Selvam Karthi will be the strength of the team.

Five standby players also declared
Hockey India has also announced five standby players. These include goalkeeper Krishna Bahadur Pathak, forwards Arijit Singh Hundal and Maninder Singh, defender Poovanna Chandura Bobby and midfielder Vishnu Kant Singh.

The Pro League matches to be held in the Netherlands and England in June are very important for us.
