According to the impact based weather forecast and warning issued by India Meteorological Department, Meteorological Center, Lucknow, there is a possibility of thunderstorm, lightning, strong winds, storm and hailstorm at some places in various areas of Eastern Uttar Pradesh including Sonbhadra district in the coming days. On May 29, there is a possibility of strong storm/lightning with a speed of 70 to 80 km per hour, thunder, lightning and hailstorm at isolated places in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh including Sonbhadra.
District Magistrate Charchal Gaur has appealed to the people of the district to take the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department seriously and not go to open places unnecessarily. Stay away from trees, electric poles and weak structures during storms and lightning. Farmer brothers, take special care while working in the fields and keep the animals in a safe place.
Necessary precautions for the general public – Stay safe indoors during bad weather. Keep mobiles, electrical appliances and electronic items safe. Do not take shelter under trees during strong storms and lightning. Stay away from open fields, ponds, rivers and water sources. Farmers should keep the grains and agricultural products kept in barns in a safe place.
To protect yourself from heat stroke and extreme heat, consume adequate amount of water, ORS, lemonade and other liquids. Avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight during the afternoon. Take special care of small children, elderly and sick people. District administration has instructed all concerned departments to be alert and ensure prompt action in case of emergency.
