Hamas military commander Mohammad Odeh killed in Israeli attack
Tel Aviv. Israel has claimed that Hamas military commander Mohammed Odeh has been killed in their overnight attacks in Gaza City. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has called it a major attack on the military structure of Hamas. According to Israeli officials, Odeh was killed in a joint operation between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet intelligence agency. Israeli army and intelligence agencies were keeping an eye on his activities for the past several months.
“The fourth commander of Hamas’s military wing has been eliminated and sent to hell to join his comrades,” Katz wrote on social media platform X. Israel says Odeh recently took command of Hamas’s military wing after Izzy al-Din al-Haddad was killed this month. Reports emerging from Gaza claimed that along with Odeh, his wife and son were also killed in the attack.
Israeli Defense Minister Katz praised the operation and praised the action of the Israeli army and intelligence agencies as excellent. He said, ‘We have resolved to eliminate everyone who led the October 7 massacre and we will continue to do so. Wherever they are, death is waiting for them.
Katz also reiterated his commitment to pursue a plan to end Hamas rule in Gaza. A joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet said several buildings in Gaza City were targeted, where Odeh and his associates were known to be hiding. According to the Israeli military, the attack also targeted the apartment of another Hamas member accused of involvement in the October 7 attacks.
