Haryana’s new industrial policy and AI initiatives launched

Industrial and technological development will get a new boost with “Make in Haryana” policy and Artificial Intelligence based initiatives.

Target of investment of Rs 5 lakh crore and creation of 20 lakh jobs, nine new regional policies will also be launched.

Ambala (Chandra Shekhar Dharani): Haryana is going to take an important step towards industrial, technological and innovation based development on June 1. Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini will give a new direction to the development model of the state through two major programs organized in Gurugram. On one hand, the Chief Minister will launch the “Make in Haryana” industrial policy and nine new regional policies, while on the other hand, he will launch the “Haryana AI Sandbox” to give the state a new identity in the field of Artificial Intelligence based governance and innovation.

The state government is linking these initiatives with the vision of “Developed Haryana-Developed India”. The government believes that in the coming years, competition will not be decided only on the basis of traditional industries, but on the basis of technology, innovation, research and high skill based economy. With this thinking, preparations are being made to make Haryana a major center of future industries.

“Make in Haryana” policy will become the new basis of industrial development

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will formally launch the “Make in Haryana” industrial policy at a program organized in Gurugram. This policy, recently approved by the State Cabinet, is being considered as a major transformative step towards the industrial development of the state.

The state government has set a target of attracting investment of about Rs 5 lakh crore and creating about 20 lakh employment opportunities through this policy. The government aims to make Haryana one of the most competitive industrial states in the country, where industries can get access to world-class infrastructure, fast administrative approvals, skilled human resources and investment friendly environment.

Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini established extensive dialogue with the industry before finalizing this policy. Large industrial groups and major industry organizations of the country participated in the high-level consultation meetings held on 22 and 23 April 2026 at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi. The suggestions given by the industry in these meetings were included in the policy making process.

The government believes that the “Make in Haryana” policy will not be limited to industrial investment only, but will give new impetus to manufacturing, exports, skill development, employment and technological innovation in the state.

Emerging regions will get encouragement from nine new regional policies

The Chief Minister will also launch nine new regional policies on this occasion. Through these policies, the state government is working on a strategy to attract investment in future economy based sectors.

The policies that will be launched include Electronics System Design Policy, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturing Policy, Global Capability Center Policy, New Data Center Policy, IT and ITES Policy, Toys and Sports Equipment Manufacturing Policy, Electronic Waste Recycling Policy, AVGC-XR Policy and Agri Business Policy.

The government believes that Haryana has a huge opportunity in view of the rapidly increasing global investment in these sectors. Especially work is being done to develop areas like Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Sonipat and Panchkula as technology and innovation based industrial centres.

New policies in the field of Information Technology, Data Centre, Global Capability Center and digital services are expected to increase the opportunities for high skill based employment in the state. At the same time, steps like Agribusiness Policy and Toys and Sports Equipment Manufacturing Policy are considered important towards establishing a balance between traditional and emerging industries.

“Haryana AI Sandbox” will be launched in Gurugram University.

On June 1, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will also inaugurate “Haryana AI Sandbox” at Gurugram University. This initiative has been developed under the Haryana AI Development Project and the World Bank is engaged as a supporting partner.

A “sandbox” is a controlled testing platform where new technologies and Artificial Intelligence based solutions are tested under real conditions. Its objective is to ensure the usefulness, effectiveness and reliability of new technologies before they are implemented on a large scale.

Through this platform, new entrepreneurs, research institutes, technical experts and educational institutions will get an opportunity to develop solutions to the real problems of the state government. In the initial phase, priority has been given to areas like grievance redressal, roads and urban infrastructure, school education, health services and water supply.

Haryana AI Development Project: Preparing for a technology-based future

Haryana AI Development Project is being considered as a future-oriented technological initiative of the state government. This project worth about Rs 474 crore is being developed with the cooperation of the state government and the World Bank.

Under the project, a target has been set to provide artificial intelligence based skill training to more than one lakh youth. Along with this, work will also be done towards encouraging new enterprises, availability of data resources, computing capacity, digital innovation and developing AI based administrative solutions.

The state government believes that Artificial Intelligence will become the basis of major changes in the coming times in areas like administration, health, education, transportation, water management and urban development. For this reason, Haryana is actively moving towards playing a leading role in this field.

Haryana moving towards investment, innovation and employment based development model

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini is continuously giving the message that Haryana will not remain just a traditional industrial state, but will become a major center of future technologies and global industries.

Giving priority to areas like data centre, global capability centre, electronics manufacturing and digital services is being considered by the state government as part of this comprehensive strategy.

Experts believe that if the proposed policies and technological initiatives are implemented effectively, Haryana can be among the leading states in the country in the fields of investment, innovation, exports, employment and advanced manufacturing in the coming years.

Both these programs to be held in Gurugram on June 1 are being seen as important milestones in the development journey of Haryana. The state government hopes that through these initiatives, Haryana will establish a new identity not only from the industrial point of view but also in the field of technological innovation and future economy.
