The ED today raided several premises of Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan and company officials in a money laundering case related to Kerala-based Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited and CMRL Company. ED had registered a case against Veena Vijayan and her IT company under the Money Laundering Act in the year 2024. The name of Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter’s company is Xlogic Solutions Pvt. Ltd. ED alleges that CMRL showed fake expenditure of Rs 133.82 crore for transportation and sludge handling between 2012 and 2018, while this amount was given to political parties, leaders, media organizations and many government officials.

The allegation is also that CMRL had given about Rs 1.72 crore to Veena’s company, whereas in return, Veena’s company did not provide software or any other service related to it. Whereas CMRL has shown this amount as expenditure on software and marketing services. Let us tell you that some time ago, a petition was filed in the Kerala High Court on behalf of CMRL and its officers demanding cancellation of the ED investigation and summons. However, the court had refused to ban it.
