Delhi: India itself has now started preparing to build the next generation stealth fighter jet and in this direction, the Defense Ministry has taken a big step and issued a request for proposal for the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. India has taken a decisive step towards the indigenous fighter jet program. The Defense Ministry has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the indigenous fifth generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. This RFP has been sent to three large Indian defense consortiums and companies, which include Bharat Electronics Limited with Larsen & Toubro, Tata Advanced Systems Limited and BEML with Bharat Forge.

India’s indigenous fifth stealth fighter jet program

This is not just an RFP but is being considered as the biggest industrial phase of the launch of India’s indigenous 5th Generation Stealth Fighter Jet Program. AMCA is considered to be India’s first fully stealth based twin engine fighter aircraft, which is being designed keeping in mind the future Air Dominance and Deep Strike Missions. AMCA will include modern technologies like Low Radar Cross Section i.e. Stealth Designated Weapons Bay, Supercruise Capability, Advanced AESA Radar, Sensor Fusion Technology, Electronic Warfare Suite and Artificial Intelligence based Mission Systems.

the enemies are no longer in trouble

AMCA is going to be the most advanced combat platform of the coming decades for the Indian Air Force, which will be capable of carrying out long-range precision strikes by dodging the enemy air defense system. The Mk-1 version of this project may come with a foreign engine, while there is a plan to install a completely indigenous High Thrust Engine in the future Mk-2 variant, on which the Defense Research and Development Organization and Indian industry are working together.

Self-reliant India mission will get strength

The objective of the AMCA program is not just to build a fighter jet but also to put India in the league of countries like America, Russia and China, which have their own fifth generation fighter aircraft capability. Along with this, this project will also give new strength to India’s defense manufacturing ecosystem, private sector participation and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” mission. If everything progresses as per schedule, then in the coming years, an indigenous stealth fighter will be seen in the Indian skies, which can change the face of future warfare.
