New commercial scooter has been prepared on S1 platform
According to the government homologation documents, ARAI had given its approval to this scooter in February 2026. This new model has been developed on Ola’s existing Ola S1 It has been made extremely strong and durable keeping in mind the heavy requirements of delivery partners rather than common customers. In this, customers will get the option of three different battery variants of 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh. This scooter has an AC PMSM motor with a peak power of 3.93 kW, which will give it a top speed of 70 kmph.
Demand will increase due to new policy of Delhi government
This launch can bring big relief to commercial riders amid rising fuel prices. Delhi’s draft EV Policy 2026 proposes to completely stop registration of new petrol two-wheelers in the commercial fleet within the next two years. In such a situation, adopting electric fleet has become both a compulsion and a necessity for companies. This scooter of Ola has been provided with a strong luggage rack at the rear and a durable chassis to keep heavy luggage, so that its maintenance cost remains minimal even if you travel 100-150 kilometers daily.
official statement
“Due to the ever-increasing prices of petrol, the demand for electric vehicles from the gig ecosystem and delivery boys has increased rapidly. They have the maximum daily journey, hence they need EVs the most.”
— Founder and Chairman, Ola Electric (statement issued on social media)
What will be the impact on gig workers and the way forward?
This move could prove to be a game-changer for delivery riders working in busy commercial hubs like Delhi’s Connaught Place and ITO. Currently, a large part of the earnings of riders driving petrol two-wheelers goes into fuel. This new commercial model of Ola will directly compete with the fleet models of Ather and TVS. According to dealers in Delhi-NCR, the commercial booking and delivery timeline of this scooter can be announced in the next few weeks, which will directly provide huge relief to fleet operators.
