Ramdas Athawale’s sharp attack on the opposition, gave a funny answer to the question of leadership in India alliance
Taking aim at the opposition parties, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has expressed his frank opinion regarding the politics of Karnataka, the Supreme Court’s decision on the SIR process and the leadership of the India Alliance. In fact, while taking on the opposition camp, he strongly presented the stand of the Central Government and the Bharatiya Janata Party on various issues. Athawale also highlighted the opposition’s various claims and internal differences in his statements.
In fact, since the Supreme Court declared the SIR process a constitutional right, the BJP has been continuously attacking the opposition. Expressing his reaction on this important issue, Ramdas Athawale said that the opposition can target the government or the Election Commission on any issue, but the Supreme Court has given clear authority to the Election Commission to take necessary and effective steps to keep the voter list clean, transparent and accurate. Athawale stressed that no person’s name should be unnecessarily repeated two or three times in the voter list, and similarly names of dead persons should also be compulsorily removed from the list so that the fairness of the elections is maintained. He claimed that only after a thorough review of all these important aspects and technical nuances, the Supreme Court has completely justified the process being adopted by the Election Commission. This decision will prove to be a milestone in maintaining the sanctity of the election process.
What did Ramdas Athawale say on the question of leadership in India alliance?
Ramdas Athawale also expressed his opinion on the question of leadership in the India alliance. In fact, reacting to Congress calling Rahul Gandhi the biggest leader of the alliance, he said that the opposition parties have been talking about contesting elections under the leadership of their respective leaders, which is a part of their internal politics. Citing an example, the Union Minister said that Trinamool Congress (TMC) will claim that the upcoming elections will be fought under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, while Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar’s party will claim its own leadership. Athawale stressed that under whose leadership the India Alliance will contest the elections, it will be their own internal decision and it does not make much difference to the BJP or the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He said that BJP and NDA are fully prepared with their unity and leadership.
Statement also given regarding resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah
In fact, Ramdas Athawale also commented on the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He said that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had earlier left Janata Dal and joined Congress and after that he got the opportunity to become the Chief Minister of the state for many years. However, Athawale also noted that many senior leaders within the Congress continued to demand that DK Shivakumar’s name should also be seriously considered for the post of Chief Minister, which reflected the internal tussle in the party.
