How to cure fatty liver without medicine?
Fatty Liver: Fatty liver patients are increasing rapidly all over the world. This problem is especially seen in people who are obese, physically inactive and eat unhealthy food. Many times symptoms of fatty liver are not visible but it is detected in test. According to Dr Narendra K Shetty, Chief Health Officer, Kshemvana Naturopathy and Yoga Centre, many people immediately start taking medicines after fatty liver is detected in the ultrasound report. However, improvement in lifestyle proves to be quite effective in the initial stage.
Why is the problem of fatty liver increasing rapidly?
Experts say that sitting for long periods of time, eating processed foods, sugary beverages, eating late at night and lack of physical activity are the biggest causes of non-alcoholic fatty liver. Over time, excess fat slowly begins to accumulate inside the liver cells, often without causing pain or any obvious symptoms. Dr Shetty said, this problem is everywhere now and explained how regular lifestyle habits gradually affect liver health over the years. However, the saving grace is that early stage fatty liver can often be cured naturally by consistently following lifestyle changes.
How to cure fatty liver without medicine
reduce sugar intake
Consuming too much sugar increases the cases of fatty liver rapidly. Especially cold drinks, packaged juices, biscuits and things with more sugar increase the amount of fructose in the liver, which is later stored as fat. Dr. Shetty said that fatty liver patients can see improvement in liver enzymes just by reducing the amount of sugar in their daily diet.
walking and physical activity
The doctor also stressed that expensive fitness routines are not always necessary for recovery. Thirty minutes of brisk walking six days a week is enough, he said. Walking regularly can help reduce liver fat naturally. He also encouraged simple exercise activities like yoga, squats and push-ups. This helps the muscles improve glucose regulation and reduce stress on the liver.
work on sleep and stress
According to health experts, inadequate sleep and constant stress can worsen hormonal imbalance related to cortisol and insulin, which can indirectly lead to fat accumulation and inflammation in the liver. At least six to seven hours of sleep is essential, advised Dr Shetty, who also recommended limiting screen use late at night.
Weight loss and alcohol control
Losing weight gradually can significantly improve the condition of fatty liver. Even losing about 7-10% of body weight can reduce fat and inflammation in the liver over time. However, crash diets may put more stress on the liver instead of helping it heal. Consuming alcohol, even once a week, slows down the liver’s healing process.
Stay away from these things in food
To cure fatty liver, exclude processed food from your diet. Instead, include vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish and whole grain foods in your diet. Stay away from fried and packaged food. Due to this, the liver cannot be cured immediately, but considerable improvements can be seen.
